We Heal Through Connection: Destigmatizing Mental Illness

A Bestselling Author, Parenting Blogger, Mental Health Advocate, And Speaker

Healing Conversation # 1012

— We heal through connection, reducing isolation, judgment and having supportive people to go along with us on our journey of healing. Our society and culture perpetuates standards of “masculinity”; what it means to be male, through norms of encouraging male power, dominance, and privilege, while discouraging and disapproving the expression of emotions for males. These stigmas and beliefs perpetuate, delay, and prevent males from talking about, seeking and engaging in treatment for mental illness. By sharing his life events and personal journey to address and manage his mental illness, Clint is working on helping to break down the stigma of males talking about mental health and seeking treatment options.
