Exploring And Understanding Personality Parts

Organizational Psychologist, Coach and Speaker

Healing Conversation #984

— Richard works with personality models to help people understand their differences, especially couples. His Personality Parts™ approach is in ongoing development and builds on the work of Jungian analyst Dr. John Beebe, also drawing from TA (Transactional Analysis), modern consciousness research, and more. It is grounded in our experience of distinguishable and repeating sub-personalities that pop up in our everyday lives. We may find ourselves in internal conflict (e.g. part of me wants this, part of me wants that) or observe parts arising in those we know well (oh, they're being like THAT again!). Without realizing it we can get carried away and gripped by these parts of ourselves. Through recognizing and understanding the parts that are most prevalent within us, and those we neglect and devalue, there is potential to grow and integrate ourselves towards a more balanced state of being.

Valeria interviews Richard Owen MSc. He is an organizational psychologist and coach working with relationships and careers.

He specializes in theories of personality, especially those based on C.G Jung's psychological types, and the work of Jungian analyst Dr. John Beebe in that area. Richard is certified in a wide range of type and trait psychometric tools and is integrating many perspectives into his Personality Parts™ approach. This is a way to explore and understand the distinct aspects of an individual that appear in different situations and interactions.
